This Art Appreciation Group includes members with very different levels of knowledge about art. We cover a variety of aspects of decorative and fine art. Previous subjects have been as diverse as fine art and eminent artists to ornament and decoration on buildings in Britain and Europe. Other subjects have included the story of the Salon de Paris and the Royal Academy in Britain, Eric Gill sculpture, "Dotty" art and Trompe l'oeil.
Members take turns to prepare and give talks to the other group members on a subject of their choosing. We have the kit to show illustrations or Powerpoint presentations on a large screen TV if required, but these are by no means essential.
From time to time we also organise trips to gallery exhibitions or similar events
In April we shall be discussing: Comic Magazine Artists
