This Group, who started in 2026, aims is to read and understand all of the Bard's plays.
Our approach is to have a brief introduction to the play as relevant (especially to put historical plays in context), read the play between us stopping to summarise the plots/action and discuss any relevant themes: jealousy, ambition, politics, role of women etc.
We also occasionally take an optional trip to see plays either locally or in London or Stratford.
No previous knowledge or preparation is needed before meetings, although if a meeting is missed it is useful to catch up by reading the text covered in that meeting!
