History - Anglo Saxon / Norman

This history group has been created to discuss/analyse the period 800 CE to 1100 CE. This period encompasses the rise of Wessex, the unification of England, the subsequent Danish Conquest under Canute and the Norman Conquest.

The concept is to discuss the period in chronological/date order monarch by monarch and to give members an opportunity to present a talk/provide an overview on a range of topics covered within this period.

Status:Active, full but can join waiting list

When: Monthly on Wednesday afternoons 3:00 pm
(2nd Wednesday of the month)
Venue: The Monkey Brewhouse
Cost: Group members are expected to buy coffee (or other refreshment) in return for there being no room hire charge made by the Monkey Brewhouse Pub.
