Monthly Talks and Meetings will be held in the St Thomas Church Hall
on the first WEDNESDAY of the month

The time of monthly meetings will remain as 2:15pm for a 2:30pm start to the talk.

Coffee Mornings will be held on the 2nd and 4th WEDNESDAY of the month

The time and place of Coffee mornings will continue to be from 10.00am in the Solento Lounge in Lymington High Street

Some members have asked why we are making the change.
Your committee are the trustees of our charity and like all charity trustees are obliged to seek best value for the organisation.
At each quarterly meeting the committee reviews expenditure compared with forecast budgets.
One of our largest and increasing costs is the hire of venues.
The Community Centre’s Gates Hall is quite expensive to hire, because they have their staff to pay and other running costs to cover. We have also had continuing problems with the data projection and microphones there. Our expenditure will be significantly reduced by moving the monthly talks to St Thomas church hall.

As we discovered when we had to move to the Church Hall for our talk last January, that room is satisfactory with a good data projector and microphone, many members found the chairs more comfortable, and the kitchen is excellent. The only disadvantage is that we shall have to put out the chairs, but we hope that some of our younger and fitter members will help the committee to do this. In terms of location we appreciate that the Church Hall is handier for some members and less convenient for others. Similarly, Wednesdays will be more suitable than Thursdays for some members and not for others.
