We are a small group of readers who like to challenge ourselves with books that make us think and broaden our perspectives. We read a wide range of books from many different genres including classics, modern fiction, journalism and travel.
Some books we have read recently include: 'Still life' by Sarah Winman. 'The Sea' by John Banville, 'Venice' by Jan Morris, 'The Pendulum Years' by Bernard Levin, 'The Essex Serpent' by Sarah Perry, and 'Reading Lolita in Tehran' by Azar Nafisi.
Members take turns to propose three books for our next discussion and from these we choose the next book. Discussions are lively and enjoyable. Sometimes we all have a similar response to the chosen book. At other times we have very different opinions!
Some of our group borrow books from the library, others read online with 'BorrowBox', or we buy second hand books online from 'World of Books' and then recycle them again through local charity shops or the Lymington Community Centre.
The size of our group is set at seven because this is a practical number to fit in hosts' houses and to allow plenty of talking time for all members ........ but you are welcome to read along with us.
For October we only have one book:
This is Happiness by Nial Williams

Last month our books were:
The Housemaid's Secret by Freida McFadden;
